- בְּחִירָהf. (בתר) selection, being chosen. Y.Meg.I, 72d top מה ב׳שנ׳וכ׳ as the selection (expression בחר) used there בֵּית הַבְּ׳ (also with omission of בית) the Temple of Jerusalem. Snh.20b; a. fr.Y.Yoma I, 38c bot. עידיכם הב׳וכ׳ your witness, the Temple, shall prove it (Bab. ib. 9b בִּירָה).
